What do you think is the purpose of college education?
I think the purpose of college education is gain more education. I feel that college is a nesessity in today's world in order to get a good job and be successful. College education is better your future. Personally, I don't know what I would be doing if I didn't come to college. I wanted to come to college to better myself and future. The education I gain at Bloomsburg will help me live a happier life because I will be doing something I truly love.
What does it mean to be educated?
I think there are many ways to be educated. It's not just being book-smart. People know about a lot of things in different areas whether it's street smart, they know about the arts or knowing how to cook certain dishes. Everyone has a unique trait about them that makes them educated. I look at my parents and I think my parents are educated fairly well for not going to college. They know a lot about life because they grew up in hard times. They teach me about life and what they went through. This makes me want to work harder to have a better life for myself. I also think someone is eduated when they are well-rounded and they are able to hold a conversation with another person. Communitcation skills show a lot about how a person is educated.
What experiences have you had with education the led you to this belief?
My belief on being educated I think came from watching my siblings go through school and hearing them talk about their experiences and also my parentsh had an influence. Going to school had an impact on me as well because I would hear teachers talk to students and sometimes students wouldn't talk to their teachers properly and I think that impacted me on communication skills show how educated a person is.
